December Net Worth Update

December was another great Net Worth month for me.

I managed to increase my Net Worth by $973. Part of this was because the value of my car increased a little. I also managed to pay off another credit card and made a couple of extra payments so that I could accomplish some of my 2008 goals.

Here is the break down for this month:

Assets

Car Value - $2,730 (2,480)

Prosper Loans - $226 ($222)

Cash Savings - $487 ($385)

Debts

Student Loans - $23,821

BOA Credit Card - $4,701 ($5,039)

Scooter Loan - $1,985 ($2266)

Net Worth

- $27,064 (-$28,037)

So, as you can see, I hit my 2008 goal of getting my Net Worth below -$28,000. I actually smashed through it pretty nicely.

My goal for 2009 is to get my Net Worth below -$20,000.

The next thing I am working on, though, is getting my scooter loan paid off. If I made all of the regular payments on it, I would get it paid off in 19 months. I am aiming to pay it off in closer to 5 months, maybe less if I work really hard at it.

My Savings accounts remain lower than I would like, so I am also hoping that I will be able to beef them up during the year. Right now, I have just under $500 saved. I want at least $2,000 put away by the end of the year. I would also like to have more money in my travel fund.
